Succeeding in anything is an incredibly difficult feat and often we greatly underestimate the work that it takes.....
Often times we see other people succeed and never realize how much work was put in behind the scenes. We only see the end result without witnessing the process.
With things such as social media so prevalent, this effect has been amplified making it so many of us feel discouraged to even try. When we do finally try something new, we typically give up the moment it gets hard.
This is a very common phenomenon and if you have done something like this you’re not alone.
Our understanding of the process of learning something new has been skewed.
This is why it is so important that we really take the time to think about what we would put our time in to. No matter what we pursue there are going to be countless challenges in unforeseen barriers. It is for this very reason that we need to do something that is internally gratifying.
If you pursue goals that feel true to yourself, you will still have the drive to keep going when it gets hard because your motivation isn’t solely based on superficial reasons.
This doesn’t mean it’s going to get any easier or that there won’t be tough days, but loving what you do makes those tough days just a little bit easier.
For example, if somebody is starting a business to make a lot of money and raise their social status, what happens when business is slow and nobody is paying attention?
If their business is based off of principles and a drive to truly impact the world, they will still have the motivation to work through those tough times.
On the other hand, if they only started the undertaking for reasons such as those listed above, they will quickly want to avoid anything to do with their business when there is no immediate benefit to their efforts.
